Post holiday Blues? Well Christmas is coming! – Christmas Decor article by Alexa Wang

It might be a crime to mention the ‘C’ word. But September is brewing up nicely and holidays are in the can, so how about a bit of Christmas dreaming to offset post summer blues and put some sparkle in your step?

Whilst it may be too early to get the tinsel out, it’s never too early to draw up your Christmas wish list for your Christmas decor. Writing this, there are officially 115 days, 22 hours and 17 minutes to the big day (you can get an updated countdown here if you want to check in! ).

With Autumn Winter goodies in stores now, it’s certainly worth beginning to cast your eye over what’s on offer if you want to make sure you bag those perfect purchases to put a Christmas smile on your face. Here’s our rundown on what to be dreaming about!

Little Donkey?

If you’ll be travelling, get your plane or train tickets and hotels booked as soon as possible before the best deals dry up. You don’t want to be hearing there’s no room at the inn come December.

The Visitation

Think about who will be showing up and spending the night. Do you need to replace old sheets? Buy more towels? Nothing feels better that getting your house in shape for visitors.

Wrap it up

Some stores may resist the temptation to display their full range of Christmas goods before Halloween, but you’ll get the best selection if you start early. And if you’re ordering cards online, you’ll want to have plenty of time for them to arrive.

Master the Gift List

List everyone you want to buy for, and think about what they’d like or need. That way you can start to look out for things they’ll really appreciate as you spot them, rather than resorting to last minute panic buying. Don’t forget the Christmas cards.

Deck the Halls

Check out your old box of christmas decor. Christmas lights, ornaments and garlands. There are always some that are broken or looking tired, and of course it’s great to hunt out some fun new festive décor ideas every year. What about some outside Christmas decor too?

Come together

Avoid last minute routing through drawers and crossing your fingers to hope you’ve got enough. Make sure you have all the plates, glasses and cutlery you’ll need for your festive soirees in time to buy more if you need it, before thinking about the all important food and drink menus!
