Audi City is an exciting new venture from the carmaker that uses technology to create space in the our urban centres. Currently over 50% of the earth’s human population live in cities, a percentage that is rising all the time. The idea is to bridge the gap between real and virtual space and encourage new ideas about how we will adapt the space in our cities as we move forward.

They have a blog that showcases exciting projects from around the world that attempt to reconfigure human interaction with space. One such project is experimental photography by Hedi Slimane’s who delivered a futuristic cyberpunk inspired shoot for Another Man. Henrik Vibskov is another featured project. Vibskov is not only a forward thinking fashion designer but has composed groundbreaking genre busting music. He is about to release a book published by Gestalten out that crosses all his favourite cultural forms.

And now Audi City has just announced their most major veenture – for five days in Mayfar, London a site-specific installation by Chris Cunningham will be revealed. Chris Cunningham needs no introduction – the world renowned music video maker has since gone on to work on his own visionary video work. The work for Audi City mixes complex live performance, music, robotics and sculpture. Audi are giving out tickets to the public performances on July 19th and 20th.
