Clinique Black Honey – iconic colour for autumn
Black Honey is a colour launched by Clinique back in 1971! A 40 year old lip colour that has stood the test of time, evolving in format from a pot of colour, to a lipstick. The iconic shade is not really black, but a wonderfully translucsent deep berry shade whose age is given away by its Clinique number – 06 for the lips and 01 for the eyes – proving its longevity and popularity!
And now the iconic shade has inspired a new collection from Clinique – ‘The New Black’ – with eye shadows, blusher, mascara, and the lips of course in a double ended ‘Black Honey’ duet of ‘Almost Lipstick’ and ‘Long Last Glosswear’.
This is a immensely wearable, classic range. Clinique – with its skin friendly formulations – is one of those brands whose quality of product and market position mean its popularlity should be secure, and with launches like this they only build on that. We have the ‘Almost Lipstick’ itself, the gloss and lipstick duo – both featuring the original Clinique ‘Black Honey’ shade for lips. A brush on cream lip liner that comes in a pot with a tiny applicator, the colour surge eye shadow quad and the gradient powder blusher.
We will say, if you have not come across the ‘Black Honey’ shade you must check it out. It could become one of your cosmetic staples.
Clinique ‘Black Honey’ is available on counters from August 2011.
