Win CLOCLO Film – The Tragedy of a Pop Superstar

Why are we so fascinated by famous figures that tragically die young, cut down in their prime? John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix the list sadly goes on and on. It’s as if they are frozen in time often at the height of their powers so we don’t get to see them in their dotage.

In France, a superstar of Beatles like proportions, suffered such a fate much to the shock and despair of his legions of fans. In the sixties Claude François was a legend in his own lifetime.

The CLOCLO film tells the story of his remarkable rise to fame. The biopic reveals the complex character behind the star persona and how his gift for singing set him on a course that brought him fame but no easy ride. Claude – played by Jérémie Renier (In Bruges, Potiche) was a showman, family man, wheeler dealer  and a genuinely talented singer but also a ladies man who died tragically at the tender age of 39. Directed by Florent-Emilio Siri (Hostage) and written by Julien Rappeneau (Burma Conspiracy, 36)  CLOCLO  is a revealing insight into the man who reached the height of international stardom with the world conquering song Comme D’Habitude which was adapted by Frank Sinatra to become the legendary ‘My Way’.
