Puma and Professor Green – new collection hits Manchester

Launching his second apparel collection for PUMA this summer is urban man of the moment Professor Green. And on his rosta of personal appearances to support the launch, the Professor is heading to Manchester’s Footasylum store on Monday 22nd July.

The new Professor Green x PUMA collection is an evolution of the first collection, moving into summer with a nod to festivals, sun and the great outdoors.

The Summer collection continues the story of the Honey Badger, with its influence and habitat keenly felt throughout the range. We see an expansion of the print through camouflage seen in last year’s collection, with tonal animal print tees and vests, that conceals a recurrent honey badger motif. Other areas of the collection play on tones of colour, clashing darks with lights and the use of print techniques such as ghost printing.

Professor Green’s personal style is acclaimed for his twist on classic staples to create a layered, refined, urban-inspired look. This idea of smart and understated is apparent through the functional elements that punctuate the collection, each a nod to the wearer’s need to be comfortable and confident in their own concrete jungles.

Professor Green’s own favourite piece is the Satin Bomber Jacket – a directional, trend led piece perfectly constructed for the street and a limited edition product drop will follow the collection later in the year.

“It’s a great project to work on; there aren’t many things that allow you to bring a retailer and an ambassador together. Clothes are one thing we all have in common. Stephen’s passion for product comes across in every meeting and his attention to detail is second to none. There is nothing better than seeing him get excited about what we show him, wanting to try it all on and having to stop him tweeting and instagramming the new collection before it launches!” Emma Spindler (Puma Head of Lifestyle Merchandising):

The Professor Green x PUMA collection will be available from JD Sports, ASOS, and Footasylum from 19th July 2013. Professor Green will be at Manchester’s Footasylum store on Monday 22nd July from midday until 1pm.
