Ziad Ghanem & Firetrap

London’s very own ‘Cult Couturier’ Ziad Ghanem and his ready-to-wear ‘maiden Britain’ collective have joined forces with leading streetwear brand Firetrap for Spring/Summer 2010.

The immORaLiST inspired by the Andre Gide novel of the same name takes in a myriad of references ranging from Hollywood’s glamorous golden age to London’s multi-cultural mix. The positivity of post-war 50’s America provides the collection’s prime influence, from Pop Art to Fast Food, reflecting an era of youthful optimism and a future full of promise.

On the collection Ziad comments: "It’s the American Dream turned into a British Reality."

A festival of colour, texture and form, shiny futuristic metallics are juxtaposed against 3-dimensional shapes and easy to-wear fabrics to create pieces full of wit and character.

For the Firetrap seven-piece capsule range Ziad takes original Firetrap denim styles and transforms them into distinctively unique re-imaginings that remain in tune with the core Firetrap collection. A rainbow of blues; each denim patchwork piece has been carefully considered and crafted. The capsule range is due to be exhibited within City Hall before going under auction in support of The Mayor’s Fund for London.
