"This series is about simplification."

Justin Winz says, "When I started as a young photographer I was always afraid that I could create boring pictures and to avoid that, I always created so much around the whole shoot, a complex concept, a big crew, a lot of retouching, colors, effects, big studios or amazing locations, and the more experience I got, the more I saw myself getting into the state of being able to use less and less to create pictures."

This series is an important part of my new development towards simplification. People normaly expect that a fashion photographer has all this big circus aroung him. But that's all show and a sign of insecurity as i found out for myself.

This series was shot in Winz's living room, in front of the white wall in there, with his good friend and genious hairstylist, Hauke Krause, and one model at a time.

With one simple small flash, focusing on the hair and on the right moment where the sculpture looked just right. There was no storyboard - they just followed the flow and trusted in it.

"We didn't do this series for a special purpose but just for the joy of spending a day with creating something.”
