The Chapar – A whole new way to try and buy fashion for men

When you’re living life at full tilt it’s often hard to pin down enough time to keep your wardrobe up to date.

You can try and sit down and order online but that can sometimes take even longer than going to the shops. The endless choice is enough to melt your brain.

The Chapar is an exciting new service that brings a new way to shop to the retail arena. Rather than you sifting through the chaff to find those must have items, why not have someone do it for you? This is how it works. The Chapar provides your own personal stylist, who talks over your tastes and inspirations with you. With that in mind the stylist then picks out each month a honed and varied selection of clothes which are couriered to you in The Chapar trunk. You can then select and pay for what you want to keep,  and send back the rest.

The service is currently aimed at men who buy from the premium end of the High Street who are relatively well off but haven’t the time or inclination to shop. I got the chance to try it out for myself and after having my initial stylist chat, I was very curious to see what they’d send me. But did they get me right? Well as this was the first time they were pretty damned close. It’s quite strange seeing how another person interprets your style. It’s like having your own personal shopper except they send it to you in your trunk to your door. There were two items that stood out for me, a long sleeved shirt from Woolrich with a great texture that belied its simple form. The classic midnight blue parker, also from Woolrich, was a must have. Lightweight and effortlessly cool.

Some of the items were not perfect for me but that’s the beauty of The Chapar concept as you just keep and pay for items you want and send the rest back in the trunk. The idea is that the relationship between you and your stylist will also develop as you use the service and they will hone your trunk to suit you and your style. It’s an idea I can see appealing to lots of men for many reasons. Plus it does feel a bit like Christmas when the trunk arrives and you get to see all the goodies inside!
