Seduction with a dark little twist is the name of the game for Diesel’s new fragrance. Provocatively named, Diesel Loverdose has a few different slants just in the name be it pronounced “Lover Dose” or “Love Overdose” with connotations of potions & magic.
The fragrance is proclaimed as a “beautiful but deadly weapon of seduction” made to “ignite passions like never before”. But there is some real life magic going on in this potion, with Diesel Loverdose allegedly possessing molecules that stimulate hypothalamus – the part of the brain responsible for attraction and lust. Big claims indeed.
The scent itself was created by Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp and works we think for men or women, as you would imagine with Diesel. The heady blend is floral/spicy, opening with star anise and mandarin. Sambac jasmine, licorice and gardenia petals form the core of the composition, placed on an oriental base of amber, vanilla and woody notes.
Loverdose comes in a suitably dramatic bottle. It’s an elaborately cut heart shaped diamond pierced by black arrow. The Texas born Ashley Smith has been chosen as the face for Diesel Loverdose, a model who is beautiful but with a strong temperament. Diesel says she is, “Glam & rock at the same time, she embodies the perfection of femininity…”
Available now nationwide – Diesel Loverdose 30ml EDP (£35), 50ml EDP (£47.50), 75ml EDP (£58).
