‘Black and Blue’ – Paloma Faith Live at O2 Manchester

Watching the rise of Paloma Faith has been quite fascinating. She’s grown from the lead singer of a brash guitar and drums combo into a slick soulstress with the added kick of appearances on Later with Jools Holland – that essential aid to any pop career.

She is now an established and complete act and very much finding a place for herself in the female singer/songwriter bracket that was previously carved out in more recent times by Amy Winehoose. Paloma has that same streak of streetwise swagger lying behind the glam. It this strange new world she’s more likely to be heard on Radio 2 than 1 but as I say the world of pop has been turned upside down and inside out of late. In this video she delivers a typically ballsy and mesmerising performance of her track ‘Black and Blue’ at the O2 Apollo Manchester.
