THE WEEK THAT WAS… STEVEN TYLER

Last week I experienced another extremely memorable day in my M∙A∙C career (although I have said that on many occasions). I started the day early making my way to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel to meet Steven Tyler to prep him for his day filming for TopGear. I was so excited too meet him as I’m a massive fan!

I could feel Steven Tyler’s presence as soon as I walked into his suite and his unmissable husky voice echoed the room. He had really made the room his own, adorning lamps with ethnic scarves and hats. His clothes were freely hanging and I was admiring his quirky style.

I applied his natural male grooming makeup whilst listening to the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album full blast (my favourite un be known to him) and also taking in every trick he had to share with me. A make up artist dream. After makeup around 10am we drove to Surrey to the TopGear HQ. I spent the day watching him do his laps in a variety of sports cars, touching up his makeup throughout. What a character he is and with such amazing style! He had a thin black stripe down each of his nails….. Something I will definitely be sporting myself!

We got on so well. He asked me lots of questions about Glastonbury. He had been to Stonehenge the day previously and openly shared his experience with us all. I don’t usually ask for a photo but I couldn’t miss this opportunity. He of course was fine with it and when I left he gave me a lovely gift which I will treasure forever.

He said 2 things that really stood out to me that day.

” If you feel good on the outside, you feel good on the inside.”

And as we were driving Steven Tyler said.. ” Look how beautiful that tree is”
