Field Harmonics ‘Everyone’ – Kitchen Sink Pop – UK Video Premiere

Field Harmonics is Rob Glover, one half of pastoraldelicists epic45 and co-founder of the Wayside and Woodland record label.

Taking musical influence from 80s synth-pop and electronica, his debut album, ‘Walls’, is a pop subversion of epic45’s psychogeographic aural aesthetic.

The songs deal in a deep melancholia, stories of loss and change, yet always with an eye on the future and better days to come. The pure-pop-perfection and aural confection of Everyone exemplifies this. Rob takes up the story behind the video:

‘We knew from an early stage that we wanted to include a choreographed dance sequence, disco scene and lip-synched vocal performance, but also maintain a ‘working men’s’ club’ feel to the location. Nothing too clean or stylised – something rough around the edges and quintessentially English.

The narrative idea of following the day-in-the-life of a girl had also been a constant but I struggled to come up with another element that would add a level of intrigue without over complicating the video. It clicked that I wanted to include a ghostly, shadowy figure that the girl would never see – but would be omnipresent in the background of her waking moments. I have always been a fan of creepy 70s British TV, and became really excited about adding this element of suburban horror to the narrative…’
