Alain Resnais inspired Fashion Photography – Je t’aime Je t’aime:

Taking its inspiration from 1968 film ‘Je t’aime, Je t’aime’ by Alain Resnais, this fragmented, joyous fashion photography series by photographer Taner Tumkaya comprises stitched together scenes, apparently unconnected.

The imagery flickers at the edges and in the background like a weak flame, replicating the film’s protagonist who slips in and out of time as he time travels in and out of the life of a former lover. The journey is taunting and heartbreaking. Flicker, fade, repeat – like movies themselves!

The fashion is by Maria Dora, Mother of London, Harold Kensington, Morris Hanks, Glauber & Biermans and Charles Albert.
