Berlin Fashion Film Festival launches with an Open Call

Fashion film is one of those genres that is evolving so quickly, it’s just getting hotter and hotter, fuelled by the ability to showcase films so much more easily on fashion websites and blogs.

To help facilitate that, some exciting news today is that the first edition of Berlin Fashion Film Festival will be launched during Berlin Fashion Week in July this year.

Curated by some of the most influential characters on the international creative scene, the event will screen a selected range of fashion films alongside the live presentation of garments on a bi-annual basis.

In addition to the curated filmmakers and fashion designers, the festival is offering the opportunity to submit fashion films through an online open call. The submissions will assessed by an international jury, led by Fashion Film guru, Diane Pernet and Till Diestel, award winning CD and Innovation Director of Serviceplan Gruppe. And the best will be screened across Berlin throughout the duration of Berlin Fashion Week, and on selected websites, providing visibility to the emerging filmmakers and fashion designers presented. The overall winner will be rewarded with an exhibition space for 6 months in the recently opened Berlin concept store for emerging fashion designers, Konzept86.

So for all you fashion labels and filmmakers out there, check out www.berlinfashionfilmfestival.net and get submitting!
