Blues Passions Music Festival in Cognac – Win & Vote!

For all you grown ups out there, there is a music festival going on in Cognac, France in July this year that you might just be interested in. The Blues Passions Music Festival, that takes place in the famous French town each year, will be supported by the most famous French Cognac, Hennessy, for an amazing 19th year.

The music festival has hosted B.B.King, Gil Scott Heron and Ray Charles, and this year alongside the more well known big hitters like Sting, Hugh Laurie and Selah Sue, the Showcase stage brings exciting fresh Blues talent with the likes of France’s wonderfully named Snake Fuzz Moan who won the prize for young talent last year, and Vinz. Plus in the grand finale, Afro-Soul singer Imany will be performing on the grounds of the Hennessy Chateau Bagnolet. So wonderful setting, wonderful music and wonderful liquor – what more can you ask?

This year Hennessy continues to support new talent, inviting musicians to submit a video of their own music performance to win the chance to get themselves on the Blues Passions festival stage. The Chase the Music. Own the Stage talent quest are looking for musicians that can bring their own unique dimension to Blues Passions. With the wide musical remit of Blues, Soul, Funk, Folk, R & B, Boogie, Swing, Country, Gospel, Hip Hop, Slam, Rock’n’Roll there are few limitations unless you are a blips and bleeps act, so pass this on to any musicians you know! But you will have to be quick – the deadline for entries is Sunday 6th May!

The top ten entries will be judged by Maurice Hennessy from the Hennessy family, Blues Passions festival founder Michel Rolland, Simon Harper from Clash Magazine and Rolling Stone India’s editor Lalitha Suhasini. Then from 14th May it is down to Hennessy Facebook fans who can vote to pick their two favourites who will perform live at Blues Passions.

And if you’re thinking of entering, get a better flavour of the Blues Passions festival by taking a look at a series of videos made by Hennessy at last year’s festival at Hennessy’s facebook page. The videos feature backstage footage, artist interviews, live performances and bespoke acoustic sessions.
