Chute De Strings – Artist and Illustrator Showcase

Cedric De Smedt is a young Belgian artist and illustrator, also known under the pseudonym Chute De Strings (or CDS for some). He has built his own world from his illustration and writing which has evolved into something quite dark and often bitter, where a vacuum cleaner becomes oppressive, and where time has stood still. Each of his works, tells a story, of course, often chaotic and delirious but always immersed in some form of truth. He likes to play with the viewer when it comes to the meanings of his work. Death, love, God or madness are the main themes of his illustrations. And though universal and timeless these themes may be he will always try to surprise. Offering various slants, angles and interpretations to the viewer.
