Morricone Pomp Theatrics – Muse Rock the O2 for War Child

Ahhh… Muse that great British institution. The high drama, the pyrotechnics the theatrical showmanship and that voice. This is pomp and majesty in all it’s rocked out glory.

This live video for the song Knights of Cydonia was filmed live at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire for War Child. The mouth organ opening is straight from a Morricone Spaghetti Western – the moment in the film where there’s a standoff between the gunfighters. And then the words ring out ‘No-one’s going to take me alive’.

There’s no messing about with Muse – they go straight for the jugular. Their cool factor no doubt waxes and wanes with music press and public alike. Muse are just not detached enough to be the darlings of anyone’s clique. But boy… are they committed. They are believers and they have passion and drama. This is more like old school rock and it’s led by the heart. They give it all to their fans and they lap it up. In this live video watch Muse rock the O2 and deliver the goods to an adoring crowd.
