Time After Time: We Take a look at the new Timex Waterbury

Recently celebrating 160 years of watch making, Timex watches launch a new wave of the strikingly nostalgic Waterbury this season. And we’re really excited to have a Timex Waterbury review plus we have a Waterbury Chronograph watch to give away to a lucky reader! See details at the bottom of this post.

In a time that’s all about moving ever more quickly, it’s unsurprising that we seem to be ever more obsessed with a period where things moved more slowly. This may say something about the continued popularity of traditional wristwatches even though digital watches are all over the place; winding rather than charging; ticking rather than bleeping.

Timex is a brand that is synonymous with watches, bringing back memories before all things mobile. But a brand will never thrive if they don’t also keep up with the times and Timex have driven innovation and technology over the years in their classic designs.

This year Timex celebrates 160 years – yes – that means they first made us tick back in 1855 when they were known as the Waterbury Clock Company and based in American Connecticut.

They are celebrating with the launch of the limited edition Timex Waterbury Collection, that features three exclusive timepieces based on historic designs from the brand’s vast archives. The design features a simple, striking, circular stainless steel case and leather strap, combining Timex’s American Heritage with a modern aesthetic.

Alongside the Waterbury, you can also check out the Weekender Collection. With the various face sizes and strap designs, it’s versatile enough to be worn by both men and women. Finished with a polished silver tone case and classic black dial, it has an INDIGLO night light that illuminates the entire face, adding a sporty-feel to the heritage brand’s latest watch. The interchangeable nylon straps can reference the brand’s MoD history with green and grey camo prints, go plain in neutrals or brights, or swap to the varsity inspired ‘spirit colour’ stripes for a brighter approach. Alternatively go for the camel leather for a sophisticated, sleeker finish.

The Times Waterbury and Weekender are available now at www.timex.co.uk

COMPETITION: To celebrate 160 years of Timex watches, we have a Waterbury ‘Chronograph’ watch with stitched black leather strap worth £89 to giveaway to a lucky reader. [COMPETITION NOW CLOSED].
