Felder Felder SS14 is Wet Wet Wet

Wet wet wet. That was the general mood and feeling during the first day of London Fashion Week when Felder Felder presented their SS14 collection.

After the sisters flirted with latex and PVC last season, they continued in their quest for experimentation and played with a multitude of textures and techniques different from their usual aesthetic.

We were presented with quilted prints and leather, reminiscent to that of an amphibian creature, styled with transparent and glistening chiffon fabrics, which reflected off the body when in movement, rippling like the water’s surface.

The girls continued to play with new textures and applique techniques by applying cuts of matching fabrics to the surface of jackets and bodices, paired with the “Felderized” staple floaty maxi skirt.

New volumes and shapes were presented, such as skirts cut in neoprene with wide pleats at the waist, left to literally spill over the waistline like a waterfall in a pale blue colour palette. These shapes were juxtaposed against more fitted and transparent jumpsuits cut close to the body to reveal the shape underneath.

There was a dreamy element to this collection, as the chiffon applique fluttered with each step and the blue acetate panels on the waist provided tiny portal windows into the underworld.
