Oscar Millennium: Bamboo classics for Millennial optimists

Young fashion designer and entrepreneur, Tom Hoskin, has launched his first menswear collection with his label, Oscar Millennium. A fledgling, quintessentially British brand, Oscar Millennium focuses on quality, sustainability and minimalism.

The first collection is a thoughtfully curated t-shirt collection made from organic, sustainable Bamboo and cotton blends; and with plans to expand the collection to include other basic pieces, Hoskins is busy laying the foundations of a British ‘classic basics’ brand.

Bamboo is the revolution in fabric, with a softer and more luxurious feel than pure cotton. Its capacity for finer gauge and tighter knit gives superior quality, comfort and fit. And it has side benefits! It’s antibacterial, breathable and has inbuilt UV protection. So it’s a brave but clever brand who puts their bets on bamboo. Add to that the limited availability of each Oscar Millennium piece (with only 100 pieces per design), the brand is ticking all the Milliennial boxes.

Tom Hoskin states, “The organic food market has grown into a billion pound industry in the past decade as consumers have become far more educated on how unsustainable conventional farming methods truly are. However, many do not realise that cotton is one of the most highly toxic and chemically grown plants in the world, and so by creating a longer lasting higher quality t-shirt from organic and sustainable fabrics my vision is to educate the consumer away from cheap fast fashion, towards quality sustainable fabrics which they’ll be truly proud to wear.”
