Cheap Monday Selfridges Manchester store launch!

Swedish brand, Cheap Monday has been creating its fashion hungry collections since 2004. From the brand’s roots as a weekend only, second hand store in a Stockholm suburb, to its first jeans style ‘Tight’ that became an overnight success with the Swedish fashion cognoscenti, the brand started by Orjan Andersson and Adam Friberg continues its expansion. So we are very excited to announce the launch of the new Cheap Monday store in Manchester this week.

Popular for the high fashion ethos at mid-range prices, Cheap Monday’s collections have now outstripped their denim origins, giving us mens and womens ranges of their particular gritty high fashion.

Manchester is the latest UK city to open its doors to a Cheap Monday store within Sefridges, after a London launch last month. It will be followed by a Birmingham Selfridges store later this month, and will feature the Cheap Monday menswear collection alongside men’s and unisex models of the jeans and accessories. The collections will be presented in a Cheap Monday styled environment dominated by raw chain link fencing and broken particle board.

To make sure Cheap Monday’s first steps into the north of England didn’t go without some fireworks, Flux teamed up with the brand and party organisers, Fingers In Pies, to celebrate. A detour down a dingy Spear Street alley would have found you the action this Thursday, where we partied with the Scandinavians and all our friends in the Northern Quarter’s Soup Kitchen. Cheap Monday’s Day of the Dead style skull logo was the order of the day with cake, glowing spooky walls, a few beers and some great music. Thanks you very much!

And to make sure you don’t feel left out, we have four fantastic Cheap Monday coats and jackets from the autumn winter 2011 collection to give away.  Click here for competition details!
