Pioneer of modern skincare, über facialist Eve Lom, burst onto the scene when we were still all about liquid cleansers and tissues with a straightforward mantra that focused on proper cleansing and gentle exfoliation. The now 25 year old philosophy that clean and gently exfoliated skin provides the perfect canvas for skincare to perform has been much imitated.
The iconic product of course is the Eve Lom cleanser – the original, iconic balm with the unmistakable scent. Since them additional skincare products and a cosmetic range have emerged, but the core values of the brand remain. So we were more than happy to take up the invitation to enjoy an Eve Lom facial carried out by their lovely therapist in Harvey Nichols’ Manchester beauty rooms!
A good facial is an indulgent treat for you and your skin; relaxing and de-stressing as well as giving your skin a smoother texture, proper hydration and a glowing complexion increasing blood flow to the skin. The Eve Lom Brightening Facial is a one hour long, luxurious treatment that aims to leave your skin feeling transformed, lifted and illuminated.
It certainly is a treat. After being given time to relax in the comfortable treatment bed (all suitable lighting and music applies!) first of all makeup is removed and the face is cleansed with Eve Lom cleanser and muslin cloths. You are next indulged with an Eve Lom brightening mask, and whilst that is taking effect, you receive a relaxing hand and arm massage.
Next Intense Firming Serum is applied, before a mixture of Moisture Mask and Intense Hydration Serum – the base for the main facial massage. The massage itself thoroughly covers the face, neck and decollette, and is finished with brightening serum and cream, and eye creams.
It’s a gorgeous experience and my skin felt and looked amazing afterwards. The Eve Lom treatment is highly recommended – I would say repeat as often as possible. Especially as it’s complimentary with purchases; you just need to book in with the counter in advance!
