Evolution of Car Technology over the decades

We are living in an era of unprecedented change when it comes to the evolution of car technology. But, no matter how advanced we all feel now, car technology has always been striving to stay one step ahead and impress us with their gadgets. For the last century or so we’ve seen some pivotal moments when the rulebook was torn up and that made us all stop and wonder.  Some seem modest whilst others completely crazed now looking back.

This infographic from Halfords takes a look back through time at some of the strange and wonderful gadgets and contraptions we’ve seen built into our cars over the decades. Do you know that the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham included a drinks cabinet for instance? And the first radio was introduced back in 1922 in the Chevrolet 490.

We are now entering the world of driverless cars and maybe ones that even float off the ground. Who knows what will seems crazy or standard when looking back at our current era in 20 year’s time.
